Baby Sleep

Calmer nights, gentler routines

Age-appropriate wake windows, soothing bedtime rituals and realistic expectations through the first year.

01

Safe sleep first

Always place baby on their back, on a firm flat surface, alone — no pillows, blankets or bumpers — for every sleep, day and night.

02

Wake windows by age

Babies sleep best when not overtired.

  • 0–3 months: 45–90 minutes awake
  • 4–6 months: 1.5–2.5 hours awake
  • 7–12 months: 2.5–3.5 hours awake
03

Bedtime routine

A short, repeatable rhythm — bath, feed, book, dim light, song — signals the body that sleep is coming. Consistency matters more than length.

04

Night wakings

Frequent waking is biologically normal in the first year. Slow your response, dim the lights, and keep night feeds quiet and brief.
